A few days ago I fitted a new set of Compomotive CXR wheels on my X 1/9, to use them in sports events , where I do not want to risk my precious Campagnolos.
The CXRs, were tailor made to my specs, and arrived at my door step 4 weeks after I placed my order:
Size 6×13, offset ET12mm, and of course 4×98 pcd with center bore 58.1mm (usually are done 58.2 to avoid corrosion tightness)
Οι νέες ζάντες είναι Compomotive CXR, φτιάχτηκαν στις προδιαγραφές που ζήτησα και μου ήρθαν σπίτι μου μετά από 4 εβδομάδες.
Hi,
Be interested to hear what spec you had for your wheels. I am looking at putting the CXRs on my prototipo replica and would be interested in knowing what offsets you specified.
I’d also be interested in more facts about your car in general.
Regards
Mike
Hi Mike and wellcome to my blog.
The CRX wheels were ordered 6×13, et12mm, and of course 4×98 pcd with center bore 58.1mm (usually are done 58.2 to avoid corrosion tightness)
As you can see my bodywork is untouched, so this is the maximum size it is logical to fit.
For your case, the Proto needs much larger wheels/tyres combination (8″&10″) to fill those xxxl wheel arches – I take this opportunity to post about the Proto.
I was impressed by your site, and I wish you to enjoy the revival of your Proto. On the other hand I would expect a Brit to fancy the Dallara version on which the Radbourne x1/9 competing over there was based.
Thanks for being the first to contact me through my new blog,
Dimitris
Hi Dimitris,
Thanks for the reply and great to see anything X1/9.
Yes, I am looking at putting 8 and either 9 or 10″ wheels on the car. I did originally buy (almost 20 years ago) from Radbourne a set of the dallara panels from Geoff Anstead at Radbourne and kept them for all hese years but never did build the car. Then, I had a trip over to Guy Moerenhout in Belgium and swapped those for a set of prototipo panels so that is now the project. Albeit a slow one!
When the car is eventually built it will be used as another track car for my business and perhaps do something like classic sportscar racing. We will have to see…
best wishes
Mike
Hi Mike,
Sorry for the delayed reply, but I went swimming for the weekend.
I see you have researched quite a bit and I’m very interested to see your project finished.
Instead of replying on a personal basis, I will start posting about my X1/9.
Hang around,
Dimitris
