I have googled in vain for various topics, so I thought that a blog dealing with things that are meaningful to me may be of interest for some other nuts…
Comments are welcome. Maybe I have the info you are desperately looking for.

Excelent. Keep it up. Yet, isn’t there something missing? weels and babes go well together. You should reconsider!
Thanks babes lover, I’ll try my best…
Thanks so much for posting the BBS brochures.. Its a big help!
My pleasure Jon. Just let me know if you are looking for something in particular.
I’m trying to identify a Copello windsurf board . I only have a photo, and length. Can you send me an email address where so I can send you the photo. Thanks.
Came across your great collection of old windsurfing brochures. I’ve converted them to both .pdf and .swf (flash) formats with OpenOffice. If you’d like, contact me and I can give you upload links. I’m not posting links to the files since I don’t have your permission yet. We have made a link to your page. Many thanks for taking the time to collect all those brochures.
Thank you William, I have just joined you @ the windsurfatlanta.org/
Hello sir, I loved your 128 and X1/9. The onboard of the X1/9 is very nice, I like your driving style. I appreciate your uploads with vintage photos of trivellato stuff, also your white 128 is one of the best I’ve ever seen! Greetings from Croatia from a young driver of a white 128!
Hi Kruno,
Back in the ’70’s it was easier -although never cheap- to find tuning material for these cars. Now again, thanks to internet & a few devoted enthousiasts it becomes possible to enjoy sush classics in a sporty form. It often crosses my mind the idea of recreating my 128.
I’m sure you enjoy yours!
Thanks for making my day/week
I really enjoy mine, although I don’t have enough money to make it properly good. Here is the car
http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=126304&page=7
Nice work you are doing Kruno and I understand most of it comes out of your hands.
Well, money is the usual restriction for our projects, but on the other hand I see you find clever ways to overcome obstacles.
Well done my friend!
I’m very glad you fitted the Rally rev counter insted of a separate one.
From all the wheels you tried so far on the 128, I like best the ATS, which resemble to the racing wheels many scuderias were using, here Filipinetti (see foto).
I checked the geometry data I have from my 128 and here it is:
Front
camber 0
caster 1
toe-in 3/8
Rear
toe-in 3-6mm
camber was negative for sure, but I do not recall how much (maybe 1/2 or 1 degree) -this was the standard result of lowering the car, no adjustments.
I see you also like the Υugo, so I send you a foto of the car that hold the Greek Yugo championship for many seasons mid ’80’s (you will notice the Ronal Turbo wheels), driven by Nicolas Peratinos, a friend who also competed equally well in the hillclimb championship with an X1/9. Both cars were prepared by my good friend mechanic Dyonissis Vourtsis.
I’m sending you also an exellent DCNF rebuilt, of carburattors in a condition most people would have scraped.
If you collect single wheels as well, maybe I can check my warehouse. You see I was BBS Greek sole importer till 2000…

Thanks for a great webpage! Really love the old windsurfing adds from the 1990s. I wanted to check if you possibly have the F2 Arrows 1990-91 Grand Slam Race adds or flyers I’m searching all over for them? Thanks again for a great page!
Hi Henrik,
As you can see from the posted flyers, in 1990 the sportier sails available were the Power Control Race. Then in 1992, you have the Grand Slam Slalom & Race sails. Recently I found the 1991 French flyer, where the early Grand Slams first appear and this is a good opportunity to post it, substituting the relative ad that shows only the boards. Keep an eye the next few days, while also check you mail for a crop…
Apologies for the late reply, I wanted to contact you as soon as I saw your message but go busy with life. And also sorry about the fact I haven’t referenced your BBS catalog posted here:
I always reference external content on my posts and you can see that by going through them but it seems like I forgot to do so when I shared your content,
Apparently I copied an pasted so much that i ended up forgetting posting the link to the source. Anyways I fixed the issue and do not wish for such a mishap to happen ever again.
Thanks for your kind message. Check again the post, as I have added recent information thanks to the Italian NTP company.
Will do, they are very interesting catalogs! I dont have many BBS fans on my page but I just had to share them… Its a shame they dont make RS look alikes anymore.
As a matter of fact I got an angry message from eurodubs regarding the lack of referencing.
Cheers,
ROJ
Well, they make RS lookalikes as all of people that run machining shops with wheels, but they don’t make real RS’s anymore 🙂
I love your post on BBS! Would you happen to have any information on the “wheel fan” they used for racing? I’m doing on article on it for our magazine and it would really help to know more about them. Thanks!
pablo.deferrari@flussigmagazine.com
Pablo, the only info I have is in the Racing Wheels brochure already posted.
I have no personal experience and I think people who have used them are a better source of info. I wish you to come up with a great article.

Hello! I use your BBS links for reference all the time! I collect old BBS wheels (RS model) and all of the files you have posted have been a huge help to me. One thing I’m interested in are the ‘Design Line’ center caps from the 1995 brochure. I loved the colorful caps and wheels in that catalog! I know you have said there are various center caps still in inventory. Are there any Design Line caps (3 prong, 70mm) and if there are, would those be fore sale?
Thank you!
Trevor
Hi Trevor,
I will check and I will revert ASAP.

Such an interesting blog, well edited and full of information!
Truly a “bon vivant’s” time machine…
In my humble opinion though, this huge work deserves to be hosted in a proper website. One that would offer a friendlier interface and easier navigation through the vast cultural “territory” it deals with. Now or never Dimitris! 🙂
Hi Kostas and thank you for your kind comments, even more appreciated as they come from a guy who knows how to tell stories!
You sound like having some hosting suggestions, but we will talk one of these days.
Thanks a bunch for the bbs catalogs. do you have any for sale?
You’re welcome. Are you interested about catalogs?
Hello,
I saw your post about bbs wheels and perhaps you could help me, if you please.
I’ve been searching for a set of bbs wheels for a corrado G60. I want to buy the wheels with which the car came out of the factory. I’ve always thought they were an RY model but now I’m confused whether the latter is correct of the actual model was an RJ. I’ve also seen several models which look alike and I’m no longer sure which one is the correct. Craved next to the offset value in the wheel is the model number, are the original corrado wheels 407?
I would very much appreciate your help on this matter. Thanks.
Hi Mora,
It is impossible to mix RY and RJ.
RY are modular with an outer rim full of rivets and exposed fixing bolts (no center cap) while RJ being mono block, have plain clean outer rim AND A CENTER CAP covering the fixing bolts.
The RJ was a standard factory fitment, but that would not deprive a local importer or even large dealer to create a special model edition, fitting any even more upgraded wheel. Anyhow, standard factory wheels were only available through the manufacturer’s representatives and were not sold to the aftermarket market of accessories.
I understand you lack the knowledge needed for wheels selection, and I would suggest to address to a tuning shop specialized on your car. I think the G60 has a 5 bolt pattern, and the RJ 407 you talk about has only 4. The wheels for the G60 had much more offset than the 33mm of the RJ 407, while the large brakes of the car must be considered for making a sound choice.
I repeat: seek some professional advice locally, so that you get the right stuff.
Hey.. You have amazing ariel image of Le Morne in Mauritius. Where can I get permission to use this image on my website here: http://www.planetwindsurfholidays.com ?
Thx
Marcus
Hi Markus,
I have to check. I got it by Googling and just high lined it. I’m on a trip and will be back next Tuesday. I will let you know.
Ah ok… I’ve seen this image before and is amazing. Thx a lot. Safe travels
Hi Marcus. I searched, but I could not find the copyright details of the image, while I saw many sites have used it, some even with my ad-on signaling.
I suppose you may use it, saying that your similar search got no results and that if the rightful owner is identified, we will ad his details and in case he does not agree with the use, we will stop using it.
Wow really appreciate your efforts! Thanks a lot. Let me know if I can ever help you with anything 🙂
wow…so many boards…
mine should be amongst them…
aloha

Hello, I have a pdf of the mistral brochure 1981 in french. How can I send it to you it’s 25 Mo. Best regards
Salut Barth,
1981 Mistral – sounds great!
You may try my Yahoo address (ddsavidis@yahoo.com), but it may not get through due to the Yahoo mail limitation of 25Mb.
Here is a nice alternative transfer site: http://www.wetransfer.com/
Please also give me your details as contributor, the way you like to appear on hitthewave.

Hi, I’m struggling getting parts to my F2 Lightning Surfboard. The Mast Track (holding the mast positioned on the board) is gone! I bought the Surfboard new in 2008. Do you have any idea on where to find spareparts? I have really been struggling to find any 😦
As you seem to have some relation to F2s I gave it a shot!
If you’re up for it, I would appreciate your help!
(I have some photos if it would help)
Thanks!
My relationship with F2 ended in 2000.
Unfortunately the company now has nothing more in common, but the brand name.
I thought the Lightning was last produced in 1995. You bought yours new in 2008…
In Greece we have a surf shop retrieving discontinued spares: http://www.surfcenter.gr/site/index.php/en/contact
Wish you luck.
Hello buddy!
Nice work!!
Thanks Aleko!

Thank you! Very emotional, to see all those boards I dreamed of heaving! Anyway I am looking of F2 brochure for Starlit Wave board with a board on co-drivers seat of a sports car – with a quote of my life: BE A SERIOUS FUNSTER!
Glad you enjoy, and who knows, maybe one day this Starlit brochure shows up…
Yo! We found a oldschool windsurf board at my summerhouse in norway. My best guess is that it’s from the 1970, we can’t find anything on the internet about it, it hasent been touched for the last 28 years, it’s called Sodem Sant Tropez. Can you help me out with some information about the board maby? Best regards
Kristoffer
Hi Kris,
Yes, this Saint Tropez board you found, is an all around oldschool type of board.
It was made by the reputable French company Sodim, a brand that produced a complete range of boards – from DII regatta racers, to high wind radical funboards. Unfortunately, all the ads I have come across, do not provide specifications and I have no Sodim brochures.
From my database, I can tell you that it is:
3.70m long
64cm wide
230 liters
19kg
It was definitely available 1981-1984 (maybe even earlier)
Check the Sodim Chapter ad I have just uploaded https://hitthewave.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/sodim-chapter.jpg

Hi,
I have a set BBS RC090 17 inch in separate pieces and want to assemble them. What is the torque for the bolts?
Thanks in advance!
Gert
Sorry Gert, but I don’t know.
All road approved wheels were strictly serviced only by the factory.
ok, thx. I saw yesterday someone who mounted already other BBS RC090, and he told me it is 27NM.
Best regards
Gert
Thanks for sharing the information Gert 🙂
That is a very nice overview of BBS wheels. Thank you for sharing this information as well as all the images.
Recently purchased a set of 17″ RK-500/506-II (two piece split) rims in pretty good shape. One even new in box as it was a spare all these years.
Do you happen to know what year(s) these were in production? Any info (weight, plant, advertisement, successors etc.) is welcome.
Best regards, Jan from Holland
Thanks Jan,
As I have repeated several times, my involvement with BBS, covers the period 1984-2000
During my time RK wheels ranged from RK001 to RK022 – and definitely no RKII.
Sorry, I have not any documentation on your nice new wheels.
Regards
That has escaped my attention, sorry for that. Thanks for replying anyway. Maybe someone else here dropping by knows and want to share? Regards, Jan
Hello I have acquired what looks to be a real old windsurfing board. I’m wondering if it is worth anything as I don’t windsurf at all. It is stamped with ” surf – sail Canada” 9 Davies avenue Toronto. Is there somewhere I can send some pictures to get an idea of when it is from or if anybody might be interested in it?
Hi, with some good fotos, you may get some feedback, while checking a Canadian windsurfing forum/club, may prove helpful.
HI
Great blog. I wonder if you help with tracking down an old sail. Back in the day early 90’s I had a North Sails Mega speed sail. I used to sail at a speed strip in the UK regularly and this was my favourite sail. Similar to a north Prisma but earlier possibly 1989 and with 5 cams maybe 8 battens.
I have never been able to find a photo of this model since. Is this in any of your brochures.
The Mega, was not included in 1989 & 1990 ads I saw, while it appears in 1991, as you may read in the already posted ad, but for Speed Sailing info, I suggest you join the relative FB group
Hi,
Thank you for the BBS information. Do you have any information on the BBS RG (there seems to be many bbs wheels with this name which makes it confusing) like in this link? https://www.upgarage.com/service/en/stock/detail/031/1906031001957
Note, that unlike some RG models this one has a large style center cap covering the lug nuts and that the center cap is smooth and does not have a pattern around it like some BBS models.
I am trying to find more information like when they were made, what sizes they came in, weights, colours ect. Many sets that I have seen for sale in Japan are in staggered sizes 8” front and 9”rear which made me wonder if they were designed for a particular car model or if it was a factory option ect. I think they may have been produced around the year 2010.
Given how popular BBS wheels are I am surprised at how difficult it is to find more catalogues and information on every model.
Hello, thank you for creating your blog. I have referenced the windsurfing brochures and photos a number of times. I thought I might help contribute to your repository. I have a couple of items that I believe you may not have. Let me know what email I might send them to you.
Regards

Hello, I have a F2 lightning board from the 80’s but I lost the mast foot. Would you have one by any chance? Thanks in advance!
Hi, I suggest you try on this FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/oldschoolwindsurfers/
Fantastic blog! Thank you for bringing back so many memories from the good days of windsurfing! Aquata, Lipsticks, Tonic, … wow, what flashbacks! Jenna de Rosnay! Sailed with her 1987 in Spreckelsville. And as a former F2 teamrider I loved your focus on the F2 collection. Hard to grasp how the coolest sport in the world is simply fading away. Keep going strong! Kolja
Thanks Kolja for your supportive comments!
Well, the fascination about windsurfing motivated me to digitize and make available all this stuff – I know there are more of us out there…
Regards from Paros (it’s windsurfing time)
Dimitris
I have some pic’s of 1992 Bic windsurf boards. How do i get these to you (if you interested of course)?
Hi Paul,
Send them to ddsavidis@yahoo.com, if more than 1 page, in PDF please, if possible, and also give me your details you would like to add as a contributor.

Hello,
My name is Roland, I live in Geneva -Switzerland – and I have been windsurfing for about more than 40 years now. I discovered your blog through the archives of windsurfing boards, very interesting, I found all the boards I have owned through the years, good memories!
About Paros, my son and me were camping and windsurfing there in summer 2021 in Punta (close to the kite-windsurfing school), good spot and also in Santa Maria (quite gusty).
Thank you for your blog, I want to start wing foil, very accurate advices for a windsurfer in his early 60’s but who still wants to be on the water…
Greetings from Switzerland 😋
Roland
Hi Roland,
I’m glad you enjoy going through my blog & we will be happy to meet if we happen to be in Paros sometime.
I will pass your wing foiling comments to Alekos, the author of the specific post.

Recently, my brother found an old beat up faded sailboard washed up at his farm. He sent me a photo and the dimensions. It was so happy to find the 1985 F2 line-up on your site and and positively identify it as an F2 Bullit from that year. Thanks so much for preserving that little bit of Windsurfing history.
Thanks David, you made my day!
